SHOULDER SHAWL Yarn required: 2 skeins Caron Simply Soft Hook Size: 5mm (H or 8) Stitches used: DC, chain, V-stitch using DC (DC, ch 1, DC)  Skill level: Intermediate to advanced I apologize in advance for the quality of the garment in the photos. I made it a long time ago and it gets well-worn each winter. All of the others I have made have been donated to charity. Even though it appears to be a light and airy shoulder shawl it is quite warm and does use up the better part of 2 skeins. PATTERN START: Chain 90 plus 2, turn Row 1: sc in 3rd stitch and in each chain across, ch 1, turn Round 2 to 7: repeat round 1, except on round 7 ch 4 (counts as 1st dc and sc on next round) before turn. This pattern calls for expert or advanced knowledge of design as it is organic and changes with the size of each dog. The first template being shown is made for a slightly chubby but very adorable little Berna-doodle named Ivy. There is a slit in the back for those who use halters instead of collars when walking your dog. You can make it without the slit if you just use a collar. Yarn required: worsted weight less than a skein per colour. Shown in photo using Red Heart Comfort yarn - 16 oz - 867 yard balls. No dye lot in pink. Also, Red Heart Comfort variegated yarn - 12 oz - 646 yard balls. I'm pretty sure you would use less than a Red Heart Super Saver Big ball of yarn. Knitted Ladies Slippers Pattern designed by me and my mother, Annita Haw (now deceased) and published in honour of her. This pattern can be made into men's slippers by using worsted weight and 5 mm hooks, or pretty well any yarn and corresponding yarn size. The length of the slipper is determined by measuring from the heel  to about 1 1/2 inches from the tip of the longest toe. Needle Size: 4.5mm (7) Yarn: 2 colours sport weight - Sayelle yarn - 1 skein each (there will be leftovers) Skill level: Intermediate CO at beginning is Cast On COF at end is Cast Off Please note that the increase stitch on some rows will be purl where indicated. Fancy Free Hexagonal Flower Afghan Skill level: Easy to intermediate Hook size: 5mm (H) Yarn: Worsted Weight Quantity of yarn:  Can use scrap yarn for the centre and choose your own border. The example shown used Simply Soft Caron Yarn in neon colours and would be less than a skein of each colour.  The border main colour was made in white low cost bulk yarn and could probably be less than 2 big Bernat Super Value Yarn in 426 yard skeins. PATTERN START: Make magic circle with your choice of beginning Simply Soft Yarn as shown.  Round 1: Into circle, ch 3 and dc (makes first 2 dc cluster), *ch 3, 2dc* repeat 4 more times, ch 3, ss to first ch 3 (total 6 2-dc clusters and 6 ch 3 spaces), finish off.
